PLEASE help me identify this Golden Turtle. Found on a beach in SE Florida!!!

I was detecting one of my favorite spots in South Florida on the East coast.. I went at low tide and saw that there was a section that was cut out of the sand and like 3 feet of sand was taken away from the last time I was there. So I went to that spot and started gridding it. Was only a pass into my grid plan and I found this... I have not tested it for gold yet but I believe it is...(at least am hoping it is) :) It is laying on a 1896 morgan silver dollar in the picture and weighs 1.25 oz... The numbers on the bottom are what I have been told could be possibly the free mason magic box or even date back thousands of years in china, india, and middle east... It was all absolutley hand done and it seems to be extremely old...

As soon as I got my hands on it I got the rush that it was treasure... I feel it may be off of the 1715 Spanish fleet or one of the other many vessels that sank in the straights of florida back in the day. Either way I am very interested in hearing what everyone has to say about it and I am going to get to the bottom of identifying it some how because I am very excited about it.

Any input would be awesome... Thank you! God Bless!!

pretty much what I was thinking gold probably would have been finished off a little nicer. Just another case of the Sudoku cheat sheet turtle LOL
What happens is the recently lost brass item is basically sandblasted and the brass appears very shiny when first found. And thats why the OP had mistaken it for gold.

Oh yeah it is. Why do you think it's called a wealth turtle. It's just no one know how it's apply. The numbers have a good meaning. That one a copy. The one you found is not. It has the right stuff if you knew where the place it's referring to.

You will not find that the Jesuit made it. They just used the idea of it.

Well the OP Nighthawk thinks he found shipwreck gold and has yet to reply back so you might have a hard time buying it. I see Amazon is sold out.

The one on amazon wouldn't do me no good. The one he has will do him no good unless he know what to do with it.

It is a magic square. Made by a jesuit. Notice the 56 in the upper right corner. The 357 in the center that is a clue. 3+5=8×7=56. Between the 9 and 56. Is the preist. Turn it up side down. You can see his head notice the hat. That all you need to know ow at the moment. If you want be sell it. Let me know

With four posts you might want to keep your money. Something fishy about the find. Just too convenient. And plus HE DISAPPEARED???
Looking for a quick sale? I'm deliberately trying to draw him out to see what else he's got.
I don't doubt what you obviously know about stuff like this but when Amazon is sold out ya gotta wonder.

I notice that a lot of newbies do that. They post an item here and never bother to post back and say thanks for the ID. Now Im not saying yet that Nighthawk is one of those types. Maybe he just hasnt had time to log in.

Bob seems like a really great guy. He sees Jesuit markings and faces in common rocks and objects on a regular basis. Im not commenting any further than to say that I dont see the secret markings that he describes and I dont see the priest with the hat..

The Amazon dealer sold out means this modern Chinese brass trinket/paperweight was/is a popular item.

Haha man you guys are pretty crazy with accusations and judgmental... I am new to the site... And I haven't had the time to log back in and I am being accused of all kinds of stuff haha I simply asked for help identifying it and backwoods bob is the only one that is being of any help the rest of you are not making a person feel very welcomed or really want to interact with you on this new site. I guess no matter what thread or site you get on you will always have people that just have to run their mouths and talk trash on others... I simply haven't been on here and to come back to these messages doesn't make a new member to the site really want to use it all that much.... I have received good tips from some and backwoods bob is the only person with any good insight and he is just simply being nice and helping out and talking to me about it. The rest of you I will not be stooping to your level and returning insults or making you feel unwelcome on my thread.... so I will leave it at this for now... If you simply get on peoples stuff to post your opinion about someone you do not know at all.. Just go troll around somewhere else on the internet... This site I WAS TOLD was a very good site and people are very friendly and try to help you out and if you can help any one else out it will be appreciated... Now I don't use sites like this much because I get annoyed easily about how dumb people have to be and how so quickly those keyboard warriors are to bash someone they don't know or attempt to belittle them... Grow up if you don't have anything pertaining to my thread or something helpful just go bother other people.... now as for the reason this site is made....

I found this in an area that I knew it was deep in the sand until the day I was there. I am not going in to too much detail but the beach was very eroded and I lucked out. If you think its a trinket and junk cool unfortunately for you you haven't found it and you can't see it in real life so just keep thinking that and move on. I know it isn't a invaluable trinket and I know its legit especially after talking to someone at the local treasure museum yesterday. So for now... Thank you backwoods bob you are spot on and there is more I will learn about it and let YOU know because your the only one that has been trying to help me through this process especially as a new member and its members like yourself that make a site like this worth being a part of... The other 30 odd posts with a couple good people in those as well but the majority is just people wasting my time your time and all the members time with their idiotic posts.... Until I make it back on again to chat lets hope people don't lose their mind and accuse me of flying out of the country and never returning now that I have my new found information with out saying thank you...

Wasn't that the turtle that battled Godzilla? ...or were they allies? Don't remember.
I believe so? In those shows Godzilla was the hero that saves everyone from the no good fire spitting turtle. Still in the end Tokyo gets completely trashed after they both got to fighting it out.

Let's discuss something civilly for a moment perhaps. If your find is truly a jesuit treasure of some sort, why would a modern trinket dealer use this as a pattern for a good luck token? How would he even have knowledge that these type of treasure pieces exist? This is nearly an exact match to yours, including the placement of each number. Yours looks a bit more weathered. Before you go off again, this is not an accusation. Please educate me, as I am confused.

Let's assume for a min.that just the name itself says it all. Wealth turtle, magic square, or whatever you want to call it. Just like rumors or legendary tells of treasure. Most things like that have a beginning. Most based on events of the written word or hearsay. When i make a call on the possibility of a Jesuit piece, i don't just put myself out on a feeling, It's an educated guess. I can't say for sure without actually seeing the piece. I did point out just two things that I used to come to the conclusion. I handle The work of the Jesuit every day. I have said before. I'm not a weekend warrior. I don't claim to know everything about their code. But I will. The old order of the Jesuit were themselves masters of concealment. If I put ten things of theirs on here, I bet 90% of the people wouldn't know what they were looking at. I'm not cutting down anyone. They're just that good at what they did. Wether it be stone ,glass, wood or metal. They even used pottery and other works of art. I consider everything they did a piece of art. They left their mark all over this country and abroad. I don't claim to know their whole history either. That's for someone else. It does however take a trained eye to spot their work. I'm here to educate and learn. I take my work very seriously. I will joke sometimes, but if I make a claim on something, you can rely on it. As far as the Mod. is concerned, no disrespect, i have in the past offered to have them come to me for proof. They haven't taken that invitation. To me it's OK for the naysayers to make a comment. Before I came to understand their work, i would have been there with them. I will bring my work to public once I have a full understanding of it. Then and only then will the naysayers be silent. Enough said for now.

Nighthawk pm me and I will tell you more.

Bob - Most of us who post on this forum are more than willing to have an open mind and learn more about the 100's of relics posted here for identification.

Can you help us understand why you think this is a Jesuit piece? I looked at the earlier posting with your markings on the Lo Shu square, but I simply don't understand what you are trying to convey.

Just my two cents worth. I've made several brass sand castings back in the day. This is 20th/21st century work, or better put from the age of the electric belt sander. You can tell that what was used to knock the burrs off the bottom. (Grooves under the numbers are the same direction as the feet). However, I'm sure there is a Jesuit out there that's still into sand casting.

Ad maiorem Die Gloria inge homing salutem . Its a phase from the founder of the Jesuit. For the greater glory of God and the salvation of humanity. I to know how and have made casting myself. I'm a GIA certified jewelry. So all the scratches means is that it either slid across something or nighthawk did it cleaning it. I would have polished it so it wouldn't have those scatches. As for a Jesuit of old and the today's Jesuit. They are a breed apart. That by no way taking anything away from the Priest of today. God Bless them in iota, eta and sigma
