Digging an old artifact site and coming up with a lot of old silver and platinum pieces. I figured I would post them all together and see if anybody had any ideas that could help connect the dots:

Thanks for looking. All intelligent comments most appreciated.

Yes. I did read your post. Thank you. It was very helpful. I am pretty much coming to the conclusion that these things are not going to be identified. Which makes my mind go down other routes as to why that might be. The only things I knew for sure is where they are being dug up and that they are silver. Every time I go out to dig this site I say, "Today is the day we find the piece that puts everything together." Lol, may take me another three years to get to that day but I'm not giving up. Now that I have the nitric acid I have been able to sort out the junk metals (non Ag, Au, or Pt) much faster. If I find anything new I'll try to link it to one of these posts so people who haven not been following all the threads and are interested in it can catch up.

I thought the round silver items had a much better chance of being IDed as reales because at least they were shaped like coins. ...and because they are larger than a US dime

Crispin? Anything new on what your finding? I never really knew much about the Spanish, and the history in florida or other states. I've been briefly looking up stuff and it is too interesting. You never know what could be found and where! There is stuff all over the place!

Awesome find! or creation? Sry, not sure of what your doing. Looks interesting though! I still say you probably need new curtains after all that! :laughing7:

You should start a thread. And we won't be adding posts that don't help with Crispins finds.

If you start your own you may get more people to talk about and look at what your doing or trying to get information on too.

You don't have to be sorry!......You may get more help if you have a thread. Or your own post. I don't mean it to be an insult! Just a suggestion.

Continue........

Maybe , I don't understand, what your explaining. Are you trying to show how to test metal? Or how to make acids to test metal with?

With apologies to Crispin

The recent images are definately curtain hooks and what are now almost certainly curtain hem weights.

- if you need more info on the curtain hardware you might want to go to "What's It Worth?" $5?
