I use a Garrett pro pointer and I'm happy with it, minelab has a couple good ones and whites just came out with one, just stay away the made in china brands.

i have an accu find or whatever it's called that comes from kellyco...it hardly works at all. looking into a garrett pro

Blue, your 250 will do a really good job of pinpointing by itself. Yes, it will! I also have a "570" pointer but don't use it with the 250. (I can't think of the brand right now) TTC

Have a Fisher F. Works pretty much only when it comes into contact with a metalic target. I've upgraded and purchased a Garret Pro Pointer...should arrive day after tomorrow. If it works as advertised and proclaimed by others, it should cut down on the dia. of the holes I've been digging.

Maybe i just want to go to fast with this hobby and thinking the pin pointer will make the diff. as am still learning the sounds with the ace 250. just bigger holes for now, tks for the replies looking forward to any more that might pop up

I have a Ace 250 also and still use a pin pointer when digging in sand and dirt. Makes it easy to find a coin thats the same color as the soil around it. I have a bullseye pin pointer and 2 no name pin pointers I got from Kellyco.

I recently purchased the new White's TRX pin pointer. You may want to look into that one as well.

Bluedogcards.

I am not sure how much money you want to spend. But if you are on a tight budget you should check the Harbor Freight pinpointer. It is very inexpensive, can be modified to perform better than stock. There are many posts on how this is done. I used one for almost a year before I upgraded. Yes it dose not compare to the high dollar pinpointers but it will get the jog done. Good luck.

IMHO the most important extras after the detector are headphones and a decent pinpointer closely followed by a lesche digger.

Yesterday was my first "official" hunt, and I can tell you that my TRX pinpointer really sped up the coin finding! And I think it kept the digging to a minimum. Check out the TRX; it is great!!!

white's

you did it again

tanks for setting a high standards on pin pointer

My pinpointer is an awl. It accurately tells me where the target is, and with a screwdriver assists in removal. No digging plugs unless its a large item. (non coin)

Garrett and only Garrett for Pinpointers. Beware though. Fakes are out there. A true Garrett Pinpointer will cost approx $127 and be delivered from Bart at BBH or Kellyco.
Peace

I've had bad luck with the garretts having gone through two. Left the house without my new white's trx and found the old garret in the tool box and I guess it was better than nothing. I have all three and the white's seems best then the minelab and last the garrett. Just my opinion.

Garrett all the way. Buy from a reputable dealer. (the Whit's TRX looks nice, but don't have any experience with it.)

Have the Garrett an the Kellyco Vulcan 360. Garrett pro pointer is by far the best I've used. The Vulcan is ok when you run it at level 5 but still can't come close to the Pro pointer. The pro pointer can find coins still buried a few inches away. If my At Pro says its 2 to 4 inches I check the area with the pro pointer first and it usually will start to beep

How deep does your awl go, I use a 12" screw driver to reach the deep coins and the pro pointer to find them

Love my Garrett Pro Pointer. Would like to try out the new whites but I'll wait until the Garrett dies on me first. Once you start using one it speeds the digging process up by 10000% percent.
