I found this in a creek and thought I could make a story up to my kids about some indian who lost his finger fighting a grizzly bear, but now I think it might be real. What do you think?

It is not socially acceptable to give somebody the finger!
Some professional persons I've contacted say it isn't possible for flesh to petrify and these items are just rocks with interesting features. Its to bad they aren't interested to see the items in person or see the arrow point and bone, teeth and other items I also found. My interest is for discovery of a possible very old area and may rewrite a section of history. It seems that professional interest ends with written history rather than writing a new chapter.
One line of thought is that flesh can petrify in a few hundred years in the right conditions ( maybe) and another line of thought is that for something to petrify may take at the least 10,000 to 12,000 years or more ( most likely ). I havefound petrified digits of three different substances, one of chert or flint like stone, one of chalky substance, and one of quartz. The quartz one is very interesting with a small deposit of red substance locked in the quartz.

I've read of a few. Probably the wrong forum, but research the fossilized human finger. It's authentic, proven through X-rays.

Research has debunked that particular example as geological - except for the Creation Evidence Museum; which exists outside research or science.

The fossil remains that do come up in the search are just the ossified or petrified phalanges and not the soft tissue or nails.
