This is an easy riddle to solve, with no pesky mathematics required.

When you boil it in water with potatoes, does it make soup?
Boil it add a small sprinkle of salt, eat! Don't forget to spit out the little crunchy bit in the middle ;D Bo Griss got nothing on me :D :D :D

If that doesn't do it for you, keep it in your pocket. Tell the kids That's what happened to the last kid I caught picking his nose, or look what I found in the gum ball machine ;D Hay, it'll keep em from hounding you for a quarter every time you pass a gumball machine ::)

I didn't read all the replies so maybe the joke is up... but I'm close to convinced. The pitting on the nail is where it is expected to be on a finger nail and could have been a condition at the time of death.

Yeah, I' sure to get banned for my off-color comments!

Yeah . . . makes you wonder exactly how deep he had to dig to find this "stone"

You're right, you could make a good story.

And no, I don't believe that it's the real McCoy.

I don't think humans have been around long enough to fossilize have they? I guess natural formation or some form or artwork.

A Great Find !
And yes it looks like a finger tip.

I have found petrified fingers and toes as well . One line of thought is that flesh can petrify in a few hundred years in the right conditions ( maybe) and another line of thought is that for something to petrify may take at the least 10,000 to 12,000 years or more ( most likely ). I havefound petrified digits of three different substances, one of chert or flint like stone, one of chalky substance, and one of quartz. The quartz one is very interesting with a small deposit of red substance locked in the quartz.

Some professional persons I've contacted say it isn't possible for flesh to petrify and these items are just rocks with interesting features. Its to bad they aren't interested to see the items in person or see the arrow point and bone, teeth and other items I also found. My interest is for discovery of a possible very old area and may rewrite a section of history. It seems that professional interest ends with written history rather than writing a new chapter.
