Part of an old sewing machine and maybe part of a cane? What do you think?

These two pieces were found on an old lot. I think they look like a piece of a sewing machine and you would put the spool on the round deal on top. The other picture is of a heavy piece of metal. It is broken, but maybe the top of a walking cane? What do you think? Thanks

I'm going with Don on this one looks just like one, The first one hmmmm my grandma had a singer peddle sewing machine
and the spool set up on top ,but it was just a straight shaft maybe 1/4 in. in dia. HH

The top piece reminds me of a cap gun, and the short spool would hold the rolled caps. I'd like the see a side view of the pic to determine the width. Neat finds Breezie
