ONLY ONE GOLD RING THIS WEEK BUT IT'S A DOOZIE!

It's been cold and wet in Texas! Only got out a few times this week. Ruined my sweet ring roll from the last couple of weeks..... However, I did find a beautiful gold ring. I think the jewel is either ruby or garnet. It's for sure gold...10K. With 6 little diamonds. It's a beaut! I also found a cool button. I don't know how old it is. It says, "Scovill and waterbury" on the back of it. Any thoughts as to how old? Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Johnny Ringo~Actually, like you, I dream of being on the coast beaches! Just imagine what I could find on a beach! I hunt the local lake swimming holes here in the DFW area....

Ruby is generaly Darker.
either way it is a gem stone

Red/pink stones are hard to ID from a photo. Just too many natural and synthetic ones. Jewelers even have a hard time.

About the button. The company website has an archive of buttons they have made. They also have a database of backstamps. I tried to use the backstamp database but couldn't get it to work but that could have been a Mac thing. Some sites are just not Mac friendly even with Firefox. Try going there to see what you can find. You can contact them by email but they never responded to mine. I would suggest a phone call if you want to get the info.

We find a lot of those Waterbury military buttons at WW1 Camp Logan.
Small, Medium & Large.
