I found out Monday that I have to have back surgery on Friday. Been feeling a bit nervous about it since I found out....no....been feeling very nervous about it since I found out. The weather here was just perfect today and Lisa calls and says 'let's go huntin!' We decided to go to Cullman and hunt some parks. We hit several different ones. I found some change and she found a great little button. I talked her ears off about my worries and being the great hunting buddy and friend, she listened and then offered much needed encouragement. After going by and getting some lunch we headed back towards home and hit a park in Hanceville. Not a very well kept park, but a park to hunt nonetheless. My first find there was pretty little cross. I had to smile when I dug it up.

Well, I was finally able to get on here. I found out that the little brown pouch necklace thingy is a "scapular". Here are a couple of web pages to read while your recovering. Pretty interesting stuff.

I just heard from Nana's daughter, Shannon (hubby Charlie in the background).

Nana is out of surgery and in the recovery room. All went WELL, with a good prognosis! She should be going home in the next couple of days - and I assume she'll be back here on the forum quick as quick can be.

I don't know about MDing, but we all know our Nana! I betcha it won't be long before she's out there swingin' like always!

I thought you all should know that the mass on Nana's spine turned out to be a benign fluid filled cyst. Yeah! With this prognosis she will be up and around in no time with no further complications. Her A$$ said she may even get to come home today!

Hey Nana..........Remember one thing! No matter who it is , everyone is a little nervious when walking into a Hospital to have some sort of surgery........So when its all said and done, you will be fine!!!! I bet your gonna beat me getting back to detecting. I fractured my wrist yesterday after falling on some ice. Doc said it would be six weeks in this darn cast.
