Got one very toasted copper, and this rather cool "head", pretty sure it is old, but what it is I have no idea. Anyone ? I do like it though, it's different.

Very cool find. It's widely believed to be a curtain tie back or clothing hook...they come in all different designs. I've found scallop shell and wolf head motifs.

Yes, I have seen/found all types, but this is the first 'Head' I have seen. (I really like it, add to the list) They went on wood, one can assume, but would look out of place on any furniture, the clothing hook seems unlikely for these larger ended type (like the shell etc), so curtain tie back seems the most logical. Wasn't interested in spending that much time, but since you are, I can tell you the correct match is out there, because again it's not a rare item. Maybe once we find a few we'll decide if it's one of these common items with no ID.

Yeah it's always quick to find something when you don't know what to call it. And for the record I'm not that interested and didn't plan to post again on this thread, but the tone of your post brought me back. Calling it furniture brass or a coat hook or whatever is good enough for me.
