Please help! Some need ID's and all need approximate values. Some are just cool and I'm showing off  lol. We have spent HOURS going through my Great Grandpa's collection. What you will see here isn't all of it, and there's another post in best finds with a list of random stuff we found (wheats, mercs, morgans, etc.). I'll be doing this in several posts because there's a LOT of pics (front and back stuff mostly)

This post contains 6 pics:
Front and back of a $100,000 confederate "fantasy" note. From what I understand it's basically fake money, but is there any collector's value to it?

The second set is front and back of a Morgan in basic uncirculated condition? Value? I have 3 or 4 more in various conditions, all have "liberty" visible.

The final set is a couple of neat pennies. My fiance said they were some kinda commemorative thing?

More detailed info on any of what I post is always welcome (I like learning as much as I can about this stuff lol)

next post coming up...

Silver and gold!

The next six pics contain:

A decent looking Mercury dime (front and back)

Front and back of a 2 peso gold piece

Front and back of a 1/4 california gold piece (what is this anyway? how did it come about?)

More to come!

A few sets to show off.

Most pics are identifiable without explanation, the euro is there because my fiance got it as a tip and wanted me to show it off... plus I like the Vitruvian man.

Not sure what the two coins in this last pic are... Mom told me... I forgot lol

This one I've got a LOT of questions on.

The first two pics are an odd war nickel. I read something about a Henning counterfeit nickel. How can you tell the difference between that, and a genuine error? This a 1943 with no mint mark. ALL 1943 nickels were supposed to have a mark.

The next pic is 4 canadian sets I think... not too important, just cool.

Then is a picture of paper money. Japanese peso bills that look like american designs... and a few others... any help with those would be super.

The next 2 pics are front and back of a 5 cent military payment certificate. I'm clueless as to what this is and what sort of value it has.

The final pic of this post is a "victory series" 2 peso bill. Again I am clueless... Looks neat though!

I am an idiot very sorry about that, and I just posted on/green checked that topic and I hope you will all forgive me. I am very much like the nutty professor... smart, but very spacey and forgetful. I get excited about something, and forget 50 million other things. I sincerely hope no one on this awesome sight thinks too badly of me for that, and I really do appreciate any and all help that is offered to me.

LOL, MPC's

Any vet can tell you about them, overseas to stop the black market conversions they would pay you in MPC
but it was a joke, there's a way around anything.

MPC's, Number 10 G.I. LOL, I used dollars, Me number 1 G.I. :laughing7:

@ Jeep

Even if it didn't do what it was made to do, at least they made it cool looking lol
Also, I noticed you are a proud owner of a showbiz pizza token. I found one of those today LOL. I also found a NAMCO token, Tilt, and Exhilarama (these last two were arcades back in St. Louis, not sure if either are around anymore)

@ Dano

Yay! Now I know what my thingy is!!! LOL

Thanks for the help so far folks!

Thay were cool looking but they changed them all the time during the war, they had what they called conversion day and you had to trade them in and get new ones and the old ones became TP, lol.

The funny thing was it was supposed to be a secret but the vietnamese knew about it before we did :laughing7:

On the showbiz pizza token, look them up some of them are worth up to 60 bucks

So, after looking at that link for the peso victory note...

I grabbed the envelope that it was in and I also have the following:

Japanese pesos and centavos

1 yen military currency note

a 50 mark note from berlin dated 1906 (this thing is huge it's about 5 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches)

and some kinda thingy...

it says DE JAPANSCHE REGEERING BETAALT AAN TOONDER EEN GULDEN with the number 1 all over it and no date (at least not in english)

there's a couple of mark notes? and a few other things that don't have our alphabet...
