These are finds from two hunts (today and one earlier in the week) The 1st hunt this week I stopped at the site where the poesy ring and 1699 cob came from. Today's hunt was at a new lot that didn't turn up a whole lot. Either way, I'm happy to have the rare 1-piece Marines button(even toasted like it is :laughing9:) and Civil War Connecticut state button. Here's a 1-pc Marines that sold for $475 in good condition

:hello:

It's quite difficult for me to comment on the Marines button :-\ not knowing much about there importance, but what I do know is that you, and Josh continually pull out the good stuff over there :notworthy: you do the research and take the dividends from them :headbang:

If I were to come to the US, you two guys are the one's I would like to hunt with :notworthy: :headbang:

SS

That's quite the compliment, thank you SS ... In one of the earlier replies, a former US marine states how many there were prior to Civil War. He said 300, which is probably how many there were any given year. This button is 1820's so who knows :dontknow:

I'm going to tell you something,
I was just up in PA. this week. The finds you guys find consistently are just amazing. The sites you get on to, the trust you have gained is fantastic. It's tough up there, and to find those types of relics consistently is amazing. Places have just been pounded to death and trust between detectorist and landowner is grim. Congrats :icon_thumleft:

Thanks 4-H, we did end up getting permission at well over 100 places this year. It's all about approach and being in an area where folks are nice enough to give you the green light.
