I found this shotgun in my grandfathers storage shed on his property. It belonged to my 3rd great grandfather who purchased it around 1913 or 1914. There is a patent date of August 12 1913 on the top of the barrel. I cannot make out the maker but i see the end of sonething that is "de arms." It is not a J. Stevens shotgun. It is not a foreign make either as it was purchased in the back country of Alabama. I will post pictures in a moment if i can figure it out, so please keep a lookout on this thread if you think you can help ID. Thanks.

Very helpful guide releventchair. That is the marking that is on mine, so that definetly helps! The rust on this shotgun just seems like light surface rust so i think it should be a simple restoration.

If you decide to use the gun, always use low-base shells and stay away from 3 inchers and mag loads...unless you want to wear it....

I didn't find the picture of the gun. If not too much trouble, let me know how to see the picture. I went to your Photobucket album and looked through the pictures, but didn't find the gun.

Hmm. The only pics i have on that photobucket should be of the shotgun. Ill take a look into it again.

Still no pics... The album is private.
