While searching a houseplace for the third time, I found
several 'Relics', stove lid, stove parts, harness buckles, several
metal objects, & an old 'Rifle'.
The place must have had two or three different houses, as there are older objects, up to 1950's coins, & truck parts.
Maybe someone can tell me the 'type' of the rifle, (or shotgun).

Looks like a flare gun to me. Cool find.

looks like makings of a old single shot shotgun to me.(minus the barrel and the wood stock rotted away)

Thanks folks for the input, good idea about the
' museum'.

Fossis.............

Jeez Fossis - I have no idea... but that is a really interesting piece. No trigger but an obvious hammer?

Good luck with the ID...

Nice old relics!

The gun thing almost looks like part of a "signaling" / "booby-trap" device (homemade?) that could be discharged using a trip-wire. Just a guess.

After close scrunity, the round piece on the bottom
could be the trigger,(bent in a circle?)

It might be a small pistol that shoots a small shot gun shell.Kinda like a derringer.I use to have a 4-10 derringer over under.aa ???

Very unusual gun there Fossis. Looks like it would have to be a breakdown single shot. If it's a shotgun, it would have to be 4-10 gauge. Anything else would be too big. So, given that and the size of the hammer, I'm going with 4-10 breakdown shotgun. If I'm wrong, don't tell me, as I can't handle being wrong about anything.

Looks like it is gonna be a single barrel shotgun but I have never seen
a receiver that came back and down like that and it be made of metal.
Keep us posted on it...d2

You got me on this one, but it's a really cool find! way to go!
