Greetings friends,
I hunted this site where an old farmhouse was torn down a few months ago.
The corn in the field is 9 feet high----Should be a bumper crop.
I found about a half bucket of trash and a handfull of tab tops but I also found a few good targets.
Thanks for looking and keep those coils swinging. Merf

Nice finds Merf! Reminds me of that movie "Field of Dreams" with Kevin Costner

Very nice finds Merf. The guy in the middle looks a bit like Whimpy from Popeye. The coin and button are in pretty nice condition. Are the spoons pewter? If so, they would be very old as in late 1600's to mid 1700's. Congrats on a nice day out.

Nice finds, as always, Merf. That wasn't one of your other spots where you were finding the good stuff, was it

Merf,

Glad you're still going strong rather than sticking the detector in the closet until harvest.

I consider ANY IH from the 1870's a Solid find.

The Eagle Button is quite nice as well.

Bravo!

Dang Merf, nice variety of finds! Congrats to you. Was it a late 1800's home? Nice IH.
Is that a work clothes button with the "R" on it in the 7th picture?
You da Man.
I'm supposed to try to track down an old school house when I come back to Indiana next week. It's in a corn field, and by the looks of that corn in your picture I will have one h-ll of a time trying to locate it. :'(
Great post,
MM

Merf, that 1870 Injun is in great shape. I have only found 1 Civil War button during my career. Great job on the recoveries, Merf Man! The large cents will be popping up sooner than later! :icon_sunny:

Actually the guy in the middle is W.C. Fields. We had a few rubber pencil toppers just like that one when we were kids. Is he metal? I don't recall now what product he was representing.

Nice coins and relics. Keep digging, Merf!
