Hello mojjax,

Most probably German made bisque. Look at the base of the back of the neck for any impressed markings.

I don't think that the body and head go together. Likely the original body had china hands and feet that were broken at some point, and then a homemade body was created.

Surf -I checked the back of the neck as far as I could without damaging it I cant see any marks , but the head splays out quite wide so there could be something under there .
And Susan - I get what your saying - someone had a broken doll - took the head and made a Folk Art type body for it .
I thank you both for your collective wisdom .
