A friend got this at a yard sale and gave it to me. It's in the style of a hymnal but it has all sorts of different folk tunes and hymns that were sung in the early 1900s. If anyone else has an interest in stuff like this feel free to reach out.

About the only song I could sing from that era would be Goober Peas. My granddaddy would always sing it to me as he bounced me on his knee. I asked him why he liked that song and he said it was one of the favorite marching songs during his time over in France during WWI. The other song he would often sing was Barny Google, but that one came a few years later in the early 1920s. Guess back then you enjoyed music by knowing how to read it and learning how to play a musical instrument of some kind.
