I know there are colder spots, but this is a shocker. So far our water has kept flowing. 🤞

That's cold! Growing up in MN, we got used to the "below zero" days. I called it an export from Canada!

And THAT is exactly what it WAS...!

The polar vortex is moving away from the Midwest. Hopefully back to normal winter temps soon. It’s 7° here this morning.

We had some strong winds last night that created what's called ground blizzards. It's when the existing snow on the ground kicks up and blows like a dust storm. I let the little dog out the back last night and she got peppered by all those tiny little ice crystals blowing by. Makes the snow on the ground look like a white sand dune. It's kinda neat watching all those little tiny ice crystals glittering all around in the lights at night. The wind wasn't really all that cold and felt almost like a bit warmer Chinook wind. I guess its maybe a sign the polar vortex is coming to an end.

Here in Middle Tennessee area (Centerville) I had 4 degrees. AND.... when I got up this morning at 5:30 and walked out of my bedroom it was COLD in my fireplace / pool table room. I thought something was up with the heating/cooling system outside. But rest of home was warm making my way to the coffee pot. While pouring coffee I was thinking.... I went back into cold room and put my hand in front of the glass doors covering fireplace. The cold air was POURING through the slight crack between the glass doors. I guess I forgot to close the flute and the cold air was just pouring into the room. With no shirt on it was a WAKE UP EXPERIENCE when I opened the doors to close the flute. No coffee needed...!
