OH Lordy, It's Hot in Bama!

IMG_0915.jpg

And being as I'm a sissy girl, there ain't been much hunting goin' on around here. :P :D I did manage to get Lisa out of the house a couple of times before noon this month, and we hunted a few spots here and there. Not much to get to this time of year around here...relic hunting wise, but we did dig a few minutes and tried to ease the edge off of not being able to get out much. I need to get a water machine! :D Most of my time has been spent by the pool project that Charlie started last year. Finally got the main deck finished and he's working on lighting now.....(if I could keep him out of the pool, maybe he'd wrap up this project and go on to something else!) :-X :D
Here's the pics I promised WSD and Burdie....

Notice how the bigs kids are having so much fun..... :tongue3:

.....while the little kids are stuck on the sidelines tossing the ball around.... ::)

Yeah honey, the kids are going to love that pool! :icon_thumright: :laughing9:

Anywho...here's my few and far between finds for the last couple of zippy hunts. Not much, but I was getting the strange feeling that if I didn't make a post here soon, I'd forget how. (Never happen) :tongue3: :D

Got a tax token! :D One wheat, a flat button that I'm guessing is pewter, a handle to something, change, odds and ends and this little band thingy...I wonder if it could be a bird band? Has a number, US, ALA, APP and what looks like JG? I dunno? :icon_scratch:

Re: OH Lordy, It's Hot in Bama!

Looks like the "Big Kids" have taken over the pool Bama Nana. you made some nice finds and hold the Tnet record for finding tax tokens. If that pool had been at the end of the field at Gen. John Hunt Morgan's Camp last Sunday morning about 8 am, Dman and I would have DIVED in. Stay cool and amen to fall arriving early. I wonder what Nick would have liked to have seen at the pool???

Hello there Nana!! too dang hot for sure. It's 65 and breezy here today in Michigan ;D

Nice little assortment there. Love the birdbands, kind of a rare find. The handle thingie almost looks like a fake deer antler?

Smiles!

Re: OH Lordy, It's Hot in Bama!

Should start cooling soon, only 98* today. :icon_sunny: At least with the pool, you can cool off and clean your finds at the same time. :laughing9:

Nana,

Nice pics! Your pool looks very inviting. Glad you are able to hunt a little in this heat too

Re: OH Lordy, It's Hot in Bama!

Nana,

I spent all last week in LA (Mobile)and it was more than hot. 107 when we pulled into the Hotel the first day and it stayed hot all week. Did not even try to get out and detect. Did get burned like a lobster when we went to Orange Beach though.

Great finds, try and keep cool.

HH,

Dave

Re: OH Lordy, It's Hot in Bama!

If you think it's hot in Bama, come down here. We haven't had rain since before Mother's Day. Still excellent finds despite the heat, be careful out there. The pool looks heavenly and inviting, y'all have done a fantastic job on the deck.

 RR

Re: OH Lordy, It's Hot in Bama!

Hey! Thanks ya'll! :)

Nicky.....hmmm...missing a key ingredient?.....I know! A nice cold margarita! Yeah, that's it! ;D Put on some Buffett and imagine I'm in Margaritaville! :icon_sunny: :-* :D

Thanks, Trish. We got a break from the humidity today and we went'a huntin! Still hot, but not as bad.

Ya'll come on over, Brad. The water's fine.

Hope ya get the pool back up and running, Tank. :)

Danny...Tell ole Zeek I gotta nice cool crick running thru the property on the back 40...he's more than welcome to jump on in. :D ......And where did you find the cammo kini!? I gotta have one of those! :tongue3: :D

Scooby! Sixty five!!! Wow! Perfect temps there right now! I don't know what the handle thingy is, but my guess would be a hanger of some sort?

Stoney! What a great idea! I can't believed I haven't thought of that already!....oh wait....that wouldn't work...I'm the one who has to clean the pool. :P :D

Thank you Dave and Bobbie! :)

August will be nice and toasty, J! You can count on it! :icon_sunny:

Thanks, HH & Thrilla'

Drodda...Sunscreen!!! Gotta have it! :D Even with the heat, I hope ya had a great time.

Probably so, Rob! Only me. :D

Thanks, Judie! Still no rain? I saw where Shreveport got rain in the last day or so and thought for sure you'd end up with it.

Re: OH Lordy, It's Hot in Bama!

Beautiful deck Nana. I built mine several years ago and now it's needing replacing. The cost of lumber has doubled since I first built it! Can't afford to do too much so I may rebuild one board at a time! Our temps ran over a hundred for 4 days in a row and our pool got so hot it didn't cool us off much at all. So, we have been going out at night and it's better then, but still feels a lot like bath water. We need a fountain to spray at night and cool the water off. My brother-in-law builds decks for a living and yours looks as good as his professional work. Go find a bullet for me now and go right at daylight and it's not too bad until about 9:00 or so.
