so yea took the vx3 out again and decided to dig all good repeatable no matter the VDI number and yea wont be doing that again. for a while anyways.
thank god i am in fl and digging is not do bad! i remember digging up north my arms where hurting at times lol anyways there are some slugs there not sure if they were shotgun or not any one wanna chime in on what they were be cool. there round and flat on bottom and top have groves around them never seen ones like that and there are alot of them there. anyways happy hunting !

I’ve got a spot like that. Pulled a few cw bullets, buttons and a large cent out…..but 97% is modern lead. I’m not good enough to not dig those sounds.

And those flat nose bullets (with the “weave” pattern) in your pics are wadcutters and semi wadcutters, likely .38s.

how old would you say the wadcutters are?
 

I agree modern wadcutters for the ones with the pattern on them. The round nose ones are modern, too, I think. I'd guess the roundnose are .38 and the wadcutters .45 but it would be easy to verify by measurement.

The ones with the funny weave on them were made by Hornady to use a proprietary dry wax lube by Hornady. I don't remember the name of the lube. They're not all that old, maybe as far back as the 1980s. I just don't remember and I'm too lazy to look it up. I loaded and shot a bunch of them. They're 158 grain, 38 caliber semi wadcutter, swaged lead if that may help you. The sharp pointed one reminds me of a Hornady A-Max rifle bullet.
 

Nice finds some are very old and some not so old
