Hi all. Happy Friday to us all. Got out for a marathon day with Cjon455 and today we went north, up near the NY border. It was a fun day with eclectic finds. Nothing huge but still fun. I did like the flat buttons and it's always good to get silver, lol.

ehh,if i thought about the gas I've used in this hobby, I'd probly just cry in a fetal position

I agree - somehow I rationalize driving an hour round trip to dig a buck or two of clad plus maybe a wheat and a silver dime as succesful day.

Always like to find silver even though I tend to spend more in gas that it is worth.

HH,

Pete

If I took all the gas money and just bought silver dimes with it, I'd have thousands of silver dimes, just not the same as digging em up

Dave, the flat buttons are very nice finds. Toss in a mercury dime and some other odds and ends and it makes for a very nice hunt. Lunch....$20..........gas.......$40.............spending the day with a good friend doing what you love to do........priceless.

Amen, Brother! We even had some laughs along the way.

cool finds. I like that 'ten center' thing

I hate to think about how rich the oil companies have gotten from me.

Yep, and they are the exact, self same people who're trying to convince you that there can be no price set on fun. ;) LOL

Love that design on the flat button Old Dude! Your bad day looks like one of my pretty decent days, lol.

Spending the day with me is priceless lol

Question, in your last picture at the very top is a small hook thingy, do you know what it is or what it was used for? I have found buckets of those around my in-laws house and have no idea what they were used for! Their house was built in 1889 so im assuming they're older and possibly had something to do with roofing.

I don't know what that is either. Would like to know though!

roof tacks, little buggers ring in like indians
Roof tacks!?!?! I figured they had something to do with the roof since I kept finding them about 3-5' away from the house foundation, just about where something would fall from the roof. And yes, those SOB's ring just like IH and clear as a bell too!!! Thank you for clearing up a huge frustration of mine!

You Did Good Imo.

Davers
