I found, what seems to be, a park that doesn't seem to be hit by others with detectors.

I spent an hour there this morning until my nice morning was ruined by two uninvited visitors. Luckily, they started barking while I had my headphones off and I was probing for a coin, that I did not retrieve. I looked up and saw, what looked to be a Great Dane/Boxer mix(huge!!) and a small Shepard(probably normal size but next to the other dog, it looked small!). They were coming my way. They didn't have collars on and they didn't want me there, it seemed. I didn't make eye contact and casually got up and headed towards the car which was about 50 yards away. They were approaching me steadily barking and hair raised. The last 10 yards was a sprint that landed me on top of my car with two dogs circling. They soon gave up and left. I didn't hear anyone calling them but they headed back in the direction they came from. I checked out my detector to make sure it wasn't damaged from the leap onto the roof, It was fine. This was not my idea of a relaxing morning treasure hunting!!

Thinking about calling animal control! Anyone carry pepper spray with them? I think I am going to get some for my bag!!

We had a guy down the road who kept a pit bull on a chain in back yard.
Ever once in a while the dog would break the little chain and chase neighbors.
Even bit the 60+y/o woman across from him when she was at her mailbox.

Exwife and I were walking and pushing 9mo old daughter in a stroller.
As we passed, here came the pit. hackles up and charging.

When he crossed the curb into the street, the first 200gr .45 silvertip stopped him butt cold.
Second shot wasn't likely needed, but it "made sure".

No more neighborhood menace.

Good for you Medicine Man, I would of done the same thing, dogs like that are dangerous, period. Nice shot......
