North Central, PA

Good afternoon fish,
I was born and raised in the area, and have spent a lot of time around the canyon (Wellsboro area), I am very much into local history. I have never heard or read of any treasures there. If you can give me a little information , I may be able to find more for you. I have many history books of this area.

Greetings Fishandhunt_2005,
There is a lost payroll shipment from the Civil War in your area, don't recall the details but a wagon loaded with gold was attacked by "Copperheads" (Southern sympathizers) and lost, only a single bar of gold ever being found, the single find being discovered in a dead tree. I will try to find the details on this one, may take a while.

"The one thing I remember about Christmas was that my father used to take me out in a boat about ten miles offshore on Christmas Day, and I used to have to swim back. Extraordinary. It was a ritual. Mind you, that wasn't the hard part. The difficult bit was getting out of the sack." –John Cleese

Jeff I would greatly appreciate any info on the blossburg tale. I’ve never heard of it until now and I can’t find anything referencing McMillan farm in all of my searching. I’m very familiar with blossburg and if your story of 2 miles east is correct then the farm would’ve been in Morris, PA or very close to it. Any information would be phenomenal. As for maps I could only find back to 1875 and in said map for the entire county there isn’t any instance of a McMillan found anywhere on it. Im stumped without your help.

sorry what I posted is All I found also :(

After some extensive digging I’ve come to the conclusion that this story can’t be of blossburg in Tioga county.

Blossburg wasn’t founded until the 1800s. And the earliest census of Lycoming county (before Tioga county was formed) there is no mention of McMillans on any census data.

There is one other Possibility.
The Person who Recited the Note to the Writer May have been talking In the "Contemporary" If the Person recited the tale for Instance , in the 1970's He may have meant the 1970's McMillan Farm or even the 2006 McMillan Farm 2 Mile East of Blossburg.

honestly I Don't know If I Copied it From a source & Misspelled
Blossburg Or if I Copied & Pasted in 2006 from a
treasure hunting site elsewhere.

18 years spoiled my memory :coffee2:
