Anyone have a nice knife form they would like to show?

This piece was laying on a table at a local farm retirement auction 3 miles from me a few years ago. It’s just over 4.5 inches long.
The home place was in a very desirable location right above a creek. I asked the owner about it, he said he found it nearby. Only artifact he had ever picked up. I suspect the place holds much more. It’s along the same creek most of the sites I hunt are on.
i couldn’t stay long enough for it to sell so I left a little cash with a friend and got it.

@ kantuck ... I'd say that one is Hopewell related as is Snyder's!

Thanks! I'd thought Snyders as well, but wasn't really sure. The in situ shot is a reproduction. It was drizzling when I found it and I saw that nice red material shining and picked it up before I took a photo, so after admiring it for a bit, I put it back down and took the photo.

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

Nice knives Kantuck. Is the color of the red one like it is in the in-situ? Good one.

Here is a knife made out of I guess a jasper. It has a faint green tint on part of it along with a rusty red. Not sure it will show in pic. 6 7/8" long,1 3/4 wide.

It’s a nice dark shade of red. In the in situ, it’s wet, but even when dry, it’s still a very pleasant shade of red.

I doubt I’ll ever find monsters like what you’ve found! My little red one is just a little longer than that jasper one is wide! Those are amazing...

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

Both beautiful colors, Wels and Kantuck!

Thanks I wasnt sure how many I could load so I just looked for my best ones.

Here is a knife with a big belly in it. As sandchip says it is as translucent as a brick,it's made of a good grade of basalt though and very sharp. 7 7/8" longx2"wide.

I am honestly confused on the dacite ,fine grained basalts, and grey obsidian. It seems they can blend a little.Basalts getting more glassy, obsidian with courser grain to it. Pics I was looking at on web had inclusions in their dacite. ??

That figures your first would be a honker sidenotcher.Well done, bet that made you smile.

I'm on the fence with you on this type of material. All I'm sure of is they are damned nice knives!

Wicked shape, Wels!

One of my favorites ... almost didn’t see it was found on a shoreline in the middle of summer there’s was so much algae / sludge build up on the beach it was hard to see even quartz colored stones this one blended really good I spotted the base the rest was covered I wasn’t expecting it to be this big
