First time out this weekend, not far from home.
Walked deep inot the woods.

LESSON - 1
Bring a compass or figure out a way to mark your trail so you can find your way back LOL, Got lost for about an hour minutes, remember, the sun rises in the east sets in the west. ???

LESSON - 2
Even if your not going to be gone long, bring water, you never know when you might need to learn lesson 1. ::)

LESSON - 3
Bring an extra trowel, mine broke pretty quickly so I was digging with a stick. >:(

LESSON - 4
Wear gloves unless your hands are used to it. I have a blister on each palm from digging. :'(

LESSON - 5
Bring a rag to wipe mud off your hands so your wife doesn't scream at you when you get home for wiping it all over your pants. :-\

At least I had extra batteries on hand ;D

Rule #6 always bring wife with you so rules 1-5 are always followed. ;D

Lost. An angry wife. No spare trowel. Blisters. No water. But the most important thing is this...."Did you find anything?" lol

Nothing worth posting, about $3.oo in clad and a boy scout tie slide ad lots of junk.

Every find is a treasure and btw I understand that older BS tie slides can be collectable and might be worth something on e-bay.

I already checked out the one I found, it's worth about $5.00 on ebay.

WTG froggie, even the small stuff adds up over time. Very few of us are out there everyday finding gold or silver, so be happy and proud of every find even the clad. The thrill of any sport isn't just the touchdown, home run or goal. The thrill comes from taking part in the game and the uncertainty of the outcome. ;D

Also if you have one bring a cell phone, a plastic bag or cover for detector if it starts to rain, gloves, and so on....
