Welcome from Idaho! As many people have said, the joy is in the hunt. The icing on the cake is if you find something. Sometimes, there is no icing on the cake, if you know what I mean. However, the cake is still delicious, even without icing.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that regardless of whether you find anything or not, it's still fun, and that's the part that should be enjoyed. I've had days where I found very small items, like a button I found in Marsing Idaho from the 1930s, and some days I've had success finding larger things, like a gastropod shell fossil in a rock. A lot of days I find absolutely nothing, but I still have fun.
If it were about finding the treasure, it would be called treasure finding, not treasure hunting.
Keep the posts coming Timbo. You will find that T-Net is a great site filled with very knowledgable, enthusiastic treasure hunters of all kinds. It a fun place to hang out!
