Your wrong on where it is on list of possibilities, but I'm not going to debate it either. It is a lot higher than you think.

All as I can speak to is what goes on down at the us army war college in Carlisle PA. You might have bettered information?

Read Tom Clancy . He has done a better job of predicting what history has become than those wonks at Carlisle Barracks . I've been 'boots on the ground' with the pendantics of these 'War Colleges' fighting the next war with the last war's tactics .

Would love to know what foreign country you believe will be taking us over and how they would possibly do it?? Canada maybe?? Mexico? Come one, lets be serious.

There is not another power in the world that would touch us WHY ?
Because of all the gun owners in this country... i have said this before that the first day of deer season in N.Y. State alone we have over 1 million men and woman in camo in the trees armed to hunt>
Now if you were thinking of invading a country with 50 to 80 million Armed People not counting are Armed Forces...you would be nuts...and that alone keep us safe even our own Government would look at this as a deterrent to Tierney. so you get your head out of the sand.

So what country does Tom think will invade and how does he think the millions upon millions of troops that would be needed would be transpired to the US and supplied.

Look at the troops and material just needed for us to take Iraq. Or even what was needed in Bosnia. When you actually start thinking of the details, that when any thought of this possibility falls apart. It's all in the details. Wars are fought and won by logistics and its where one always has to start when lolling at a conflict. Not sexy, but true. Best.

Not sure why my head is in the sand when you just agreed with my comment that no one will invade the US. I completely agree with you??we are all on the same page.

Well then, somebody please let me know when the first day of deer season is in NY. I will definitely avoid taking a walk through the woods at that time.

I thought this site was supposed to be about treasure hunting. I think we should leave politics and personal opinions about the Constitution out of the conversation.

NO, WE TOOK AN OATH TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION. We did not swear allegiance to "the president". That's like the SS making oaths of allegiance to Adolf Hitler, instead of to their country. And that is a good example of what happens when people take oaths of loyalty to a person. By the way, one of the first things the Nazis did when they took power was to disarm the German people, so they could not resist the oppressive government.

Don't worry TH, I got this one.

TNET is currently allowing posts on the 2nd amendment. This is the only politics allowed on the forum.

As a personal note: If you go build your own treasure detecting site then you can make the rules...until then, we play by theirs. ;)

All enlisted people swear alliance to uphold the const AND to the prez. So you are incorrect.

Officers on swear to the const.

You need to read your history. The nazi knocked down the commies and a few other political parties but had fairly widespread support from the German people. Not sure about your taking guns away comment as most Germans of fighting age were recruited right into the military. And by the end of the war they were handing weapons out to every man, woman and child.

Don't forget most tyrants come to power carried aloft by supporters to the cheers of millions - hitler was no different. Most of the German people don't get a free pass - the were either complacent or downright supportive. There actions were not driven by being forced to do anything.

Here we go with the Nazis again. Is there some unwritten rule somewhere that states all threads must eventually degenerate to talking about Nazis? War atrocities have been going on since the beginning of mankind. Heck, when a lion takes over a new pride he kills all the offspring that are not his. Lets start to compare things to Lions instead of Nazis...I am getting bit tired of the whole Nazi thing always being brought up.

Please "post" ALL such OATHS... HERE!

And wasn't he just trying to stop that "Zionist new world order" that I read about on the wolfpack thread? Definitely not my words just quoting someone else.

The enlisted oath reads "I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." " That's not the same thing as an oath of loyalty to a person. That's an oath to obey the orders of the commander in chief of the armed forces. I know that sounds like I'm arguing semantics, but it's like respecting the office of the president, when you may not respect the man. And I'm not a rabid Obama hater, either. But the oath has the Constituion

There's well over six million souls who were unable to defend themselves, most of whom were buried in mass graves or burned in the ovens who would disagree with you, but alas, they are no more.

Early on, the SS worked to see how many could die from a single bullet. They forced them to stand single file and a round was put in the first person (might be a man, a woman, child or elderly --- didn't matter) and they counted to see who could kill the most.

Not only were those Jews killed, but other groups AND INDIVIDUALS who did not support the Third Reich. The first were the peace mongers - those opposed to war for either personal or religious reasons - then the opponents of the Nazis as well as those on Hitler's personal hit list. Why the peace mongers first? They were already unarmed because they abided by the law of the land and turned in their weapons.

As for swearing an oath, the order in which the oath is presented is that the matter of primary importance is stated first: "I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic". THEN the allegiance to what's his name. That makes allegiance to him SECONDARY to the oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." It is an oath that some civilian employees must take as well.
