Well, it wasn't as cold as I thought it would be today so an md buddy and myself got out this morning to a familiar Rev war skirmish site. My showable finds included one fired musket ball, one 1919 wheatie, one 1903 Indian, one sterling cuff link? and one mystery button that reads A E F 37 DIV. Any ideas on the button? The silver ring was from another hunt. My friend that was out with me today really cleaned up on the musket balls, I think he totaled 6 for the day. Thanks for looking and HH! :occasion14:

Re: Todays Rev war site finds with my E-TRAC

Nice grouping of finds!
A close up of that cuff link and button would be nice.

Re: Todays Rev war site finds with my E-TRAC

My camera is terrible at close ups, I just ordered a microscope camera a few days ago. The cuff link says sterling and barely visible even to my eye are the letters BLR scratched onto the backside. I have the pin to the back of the button too but it broke off in the field :(

Well, here is a close up of the initials someone scratched on the back of the cufflink taken with my new microscope camera. And one of where it says "STERLING"

excellent finds some nice pic shots to, couple was blurry but i'll live.

Sorry about the blurry ones, they were taken with my old whoopdie camera

Very Nice finds,
I am thinking the button is from WW1 and the AEF ,I think stands for American Expeditionary Force 37th division.

cool button.

37th division, (combat engineers), american expeditionary force, hit the beach at omaha, june 6th 1944.

Strange how things wind up where they do, this possible Normandy button wound up in a spot in Pa where a Revolutionary war skirmish was fought

Thanks for the better pic, looks like that new camera is working great.
I caught the new reply as i was typing that it may be WW2 and it might be? but I still stand with it being WW1 and using the Coins to help date the era of these finds.

The cuff link, the wheatie and the button were all found within a few inches of each other

i found a reference to a 37th division in WWI...
i think the pin is a veterans pin, not military issue.

neat finds.
