Hi everyone. My daughter and I used our metal detector for the first time last night. We found an old bottle top, a clothespin spring, and an old pick ax. So we are going to give it try again tonight.
Greetings again everyone. I went out over the weekend and found burnt foil and forty cents. I think I am going to try the park one night and see how I do. My little girl has herself convinced that the is a buried treasure on our property. Going out there with her makes it well worth it. Oh before I forget, the oldest penny I found was a 1964. If anyone wants to email me feel free. [email protected]. someone asked which part of Indiana I am from well,I am from Greencastle Indiana its a college town. Have a great day everyone.
Welcome to a great forum and a great hobby! How old is your house? Do you have a dirt floor basement or crawl space? (Detect that)
You two will find the good stuff soon!

Welcome and enjoy! I've been THing for about 8 months and I'm an old hand now in more ways than one! How old is your daughter? I have grandkids that are still too young to TH but in a couple of years I will have lots of company. Right now I throw a couple of pennies out for my 7 yr old and let her find them with the ACE 250 and she has almost dug up my whole yard! Got to teach her to dig better! JIM
Welcome Maggie & Daughter,it is nice to have you aboard. Good luck in your search, of course I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that your about to become hooked on this. Ha
Welcome again.
Hey Maggie. Welcome to you and your daughter. It sounds like everyone on the forum comes from Indiana. Sounds like you have a lot of competition. Start slow and take your time. Buy some good books on the subject and enjoy reading them. Get the W&E Treasures magazine and read all of the articles. Pretty soon you will be finding the good stuff. Its a wonderful healthy hobby. I wish I had started it when my daughter was little. Take care...Lance
