All Treasure Hunting
Spent a week in the surf and this is what I managed to squeak out of the sand. Two 18K gold rings, five silver rings, two silver earrings, a nice silver bracelet, a couple of tungsten carbides (including a monster size 14 with the Lord's prayer on it) one stainless ring, and the rest plated junk. Assorted coins....mostly from U.S. tourists like me, a nice pair of Ray Ban polarized sunglasses which are probably worth more than anything I found, a puka shell necklace with pendant, and assorted other junk jewelry. Not quite as good as my last trips, but, there are more people detecting these days too, so, not surprising. Just have to work harder and smarter now.

No problems with what I had and where I was.

You did fairly decent :) Did you have any one try and stop you from detecting.

I just wonder if anyone goes on vacation to some of these places and they take along detecting equipment. When they do this do they find enough in finds to offset the cost of the trip ?

It's a good question Gare. This trip is a good example.

If CudaMark went through the effort of trying to turn his finds into cash, my guess from what I see in the picture is he might be in the $500 range. That's likely 25% or less of the cost of a Caribbean trip for a week. So the reality is most of the time it won't pay for the whole trip, but could offset some of the cost.

This is my opinion only and all percentages\figures are just a guess.

For the trips I've taken, it was just fun being there and finding things. The monetary value of the finds, and their impact on the cost of the trip, were secondary considerations at best.

Wow ... congrats on all the great finds !

Outstanding Mark
Congratulations on your success

Nice trip...good amount of finds !! Congrats 👏

If you get lucky, sure. No guarantees.....
