Holy crow!! A trio of NJs, incredible condition Eborac, and then one of the rarer patriotic buttons as a 20lb cherry on top? Outrageous stuff, one of the better arrays of post colonial, pre federal finds I remember seeing. I don't know how the behind the scenes system actually works, but I'm hoping the longevity of your membership outweighs having few posts when it comes down to being a candidate for banner. The button or the coins separately would qualify IMHO, so the hunt as a whole definitely belongs up there.

Wow! Almost everything you posted is a terrific find! The NY copper is not found too often, if you search for one on this forum, you will not see many posted. The rattlesnake button as someone already stated is something I would prefer of a lot of the GW buttons, so that find is really special and deserves special recognition. Of course I am most interested in the NJ coppers and the other "Don" :) has identified the varieties for you and I must say three on one hunt is outstanding, and please for my survey data PM me the County and State found in. The survey has 887 NJ coppers in it and collecting quite a database on the distribution of the NJ coppers and which varieties are common to which are rare based on what is being reported. Congrats on a great hunt and to your brother too on getting three coppers including the 5th state copper found at the site. Don

Bump. Even accounting for my own bias for objects of the period, I'm scratching my head at the lack of excitement on this one.

Thanks zk,I know I was pretty excited with these finds, when I found out what the button was I almost fell out of my chair,lol..i found out the nova eborac coin was struck right in the county I was born and raised in ,less than a half hour from my house, pretty cool!

Yeah the button and Nova would easily be the best relic and large copper find for the year for many. I know I'd gladly sign up for each if I could this Fall.

I hope to bump this thread and take that back digging something I feel is better, but that's a pretty tall order. Time will tell!

Excellent old finds. Looks like a great spot.

I've found one NJ copper. I didn't even know what it was at the time...
