There's two Dons... The other is in SJ and records them. I'm sure he'll chime in soon.

PS: I'm the one you were talking to who suggested posting them here. They are all great finds.

Don in South Jersey is on here more often than me, but I pounce when I can.

Incredible... The condition on those coppers and that sick patriotic button is just amazing. Awesome patina. The serpent head NJ has a square hole, most likely made by a hand forged rose head nail, rather than a rectangular hole, made by a cut nail... Stuff like that is really cool to me and most likely that nail was driven through it within the first decade of it being minted. Hope you guys can get back there and find some more.

Those coppers are killer but that rattlesnake button is incredible. I would take that over a GW inaugural button in a heartbeat. Those are some of my favorite buttons ever made. This would be an absolute BANNER button for sure

You are on an spectacular site! New Jersey coppers and Rattlesnake buttons, what more could you want, except maybe a GW Inaugural. The Rattlesnake button is one of my all time favorite buttons. I have dug two of them, both from the same site, but neither of them has the shank like yours does. I also have that button tattooed on my arm. Definitely a banner find and my vote is going in now.

With all those old coppers there's got to be some old silver too.

thanks steve, congrats on your two buttons!!great tattoo as well

WOW! Everyone is talking about the NJ coppers but that New York piece is a STUNNER and much tougher to hit than the average NJ. That should almost be a banner by itself. The rattlesnake button is also exquisite, so congratulations on one of the best hunts I've seen posted all year!
