Hi all,
Just came across this site while doing some research for dig sites.
I just bought a H.F. special...lol... Metal Detector. Used it to find my broken water pipe, then took it to my backyard to see if I should keep it or not.
Well, in 10 mins. I found 1 -aluminum fishing decal (I think it was for a reel or boat decal), 2 pennies, a fence sliding lever, oh and a mid to late 1800 or early 1900 U.S.N. Silver Spoon by Rogers MFG. Co., and some sort of metal about a 1 - 2 feet long...that look like it held together an old leather bag or chest (that my guess, it is very deteriorated).
So I guess I am keeping it, will do some more backyard detecting and then try the beach with it next week.
