I was out digging in a new section of woods near my home. The day started off very well with a 1883 Seated Liberty dime, followed by a very worn 192? Merc about two hours later. Just as I was getting ready to call it quits, I got a faint, but good sounding, repeating signal on my AT-Pro. One over-sized plug later, out pops the smallest coin shaped object I've ever seen. At first I thought it was a cuff button...turned out to be a 1852 three cent piece. Nice to have a day like this before the season grinds to a halt. HH

Wow nice finds. That seated and the trime are in awesome condition.

WOW what a great find and day! Now you will have something to talk to people about at Thanksgiving :) I would be so proud I would have it there for viewing as well. Makes me want to go out in the dark and start swinging.

Pretty sweet!!! i pulled out my first three cent piece last week and it was the same date!!

Aaah, the elusive trime...nice job finding such tiny silver! That seated is in gorgeous shape, wish I could find one like that lol.

Excellent day of hunting. Those 3 cent silvers are elusive

Awesome detail on the trime congrats!
It's on my bucket list.

Hi All- Hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving! For the trime, It rang up in the mid 70's on the AT-Pro at about 6-7 inches. Very solid, repeatable signal. It came out of the ground looking horrible...pretty much black, with little/ no detail showing. I did a little research, and tried a cleaning technique that was new to me. Worked out really well. Here's the address: Method To Remove Sulfide From Silver
I was very impressed with the results, but it did take three attempts.
The Seated liberty dime was beautiful right out odf the ground. It was also my first love token, as the reverse was erased, and replaced with a pair of interlocking initials. Very cool! HH

Congrats on pulling those 3 keepers. It's nice to see that trimes are still being dug. It gives me hope that there is one out there with my name on it.

Same here L.D. I love that coin. it's so unique. Great job Silvermonkey on those recoveries.

Two beautiful coins. Both on my bucket list too. Fantastic job!
