I have a couple of dumba$$ questions to ask.
#1 Why would scrap BBQ grills have any value. What am I missing ?
#2 Why are lawnmowers considered as good as gold ?
#3 What do you experts consider the easiest score for scrapping ?
Thank you for spending the time to enlighten this dumba$$. Jim

Thanks for the guidance and answers. I guess I will just look around the house for all the "Scrap Gold" those yahoos on TV want me to send to them. Thanks to all, Jim

Can't tell you about the lawnmowers but the bodies on propane grills were made out of cast aluminum up until the last couple of years. The bodies are worth about $5 each on average around here. I have about 40 of them stacked out back just waiting to sell.

I'm guessing lawnmowers are good because they can be fixed (sometimes) and sold for money. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they scrap out that well.

Lawnmower motors have some aluminum. If you dismantle it you have to find a way to get rid of the oil and gas. I myself chose not to take them apart. To much of a mess. I did score a nice working self propelled craftsman last week with the bag. Took it it home and started right up.

I bet a log splitter could break up a lamn mower engine toot sweet. I might start saving old lawn mower engines and other things with cast al housings until I've got enough to make it worth it to rent a splitter.
