Need some advice on 4" dredge sluice

Nothing I own is not for sale, but you wouldn't want it for what I'd have to get. I want to be able to dredge in a couple of weeks so I'd have to get close to what a good used one would go for. Grub and Gem, I think that's the name, in Georgia is a pay to dig. They charge by the inch and limit it to 4. It's more like a tourist spot where you can buy buckets of gems and cons to pan, but also allows prospecting. I can only guess they don't wan t a 6 or 8 coming in and cleaning their stretch or the creek out. Curvins is privately owned and leased to GPAA their limit is 3". Only 2 reasons I'd go there. Its less than 2 hours away so would make an easy one day trip, and curiosity. As far as if they restrict to small you'd go somewhere else You might feel different if you lived in Alabama, only two places in the state that even allow dredging that I know of. If I'm not mistaken the GPAA claims in Georgia limit to 5". Only know of 2 places that allow 6" which is what I'm building now.

Everything is for sale, it's just nobody has hit your price... If someone came along and offered you $1,000,000 for everything you own including the cloths on your back, you would be naked in 10 seconds!!! Maybe not but you get my point. Everything and everyone has their price.

in Alabama theres always the Alabama Gold Camp! i was there about 10 years ago and i really had a good time. and the people really bentover backwards to help you out!

Omnicron, that's how the old horse traders I grew up around used to talk. lol

Yeah the AGC is great. Haven't met the owner Jeff. Dangit cant remember his name but the guy that help me at first, and everyone else has been super nice. I don't know if they even have a limit but I know they allow 6 inch.you can find color in every pain but not many and very fine, found a few flakes. heard of some people having good days but you know how ideas always looking for better dirt to work. 2 or 3 months ago had no idea what a highbanker was.I now have a 4" and soon to have a 6. I have no idea of where I'm going first.

yeah, haven't got enough in three trips to buy my lunch on the way home yet though and you know how that greener pasture syndrome is once it's hit you. Of course being green as a gourd might, just maybe have a tiny bit to do with it. That and I built a highbanker that you can't shovel fast enough to overload. Doing things like spending an extra $100 on gas to go where I can get $50 more gold makes perfect sense to me. Anyway I just got off the phone with Mark Keene, heck of a nice guy by the way, and I have the missing metal parts coming. I have carpet and moss. Maybe I'll be creek worthy by the weekend after all, not that I'll be going to dad gum cold, just a deadline I put on myself to keep from dragging my feet. Yall have a good one, Bearing Sea Gold is about to come on, My favorite fake reality show.

Banjopicker depending on how long ago you were at AGC you either talked to Lonnie, Miner Mike. but i think both of these fine men are gone from AGC as of a few years ago!i meet with and talked with them a lot while i was there.i had to leave when some real heavy storms came in.

Banjo I have a few good spots to dredge down there and will be heading down in a few weeks .if your ready and have cold weather dive gear your more welcome to come along .. But it's gona be cold no doubt that's the reason for my trip ! And a small water fall I need to check out as I'm having a lot of nightmares about it ! lol I'll show ya what I know and some places you can stay and dredge..
There's pretty good gold down there but knowing what layer it's in is the key to successful dredging anywhere...

I need to test my cold water stamina as I'm heading to nome this summer and want to know what to expect...
I'll be driving with a semi dry 7mil and heater of course and have some other dive gear but if you don't have a heater you won't last too long in the cold water..
I use a camp shower heater runs on propane ... And ties to your dredge blaster nozzle output.. .. But give me a shout of your interested ...

Yes it is, and I took him up on it. A nudge in the right direction is huge for a newbie. I replied last night and it was gone this morning. ?

G1 thankyou for the offer but all my equipment is packed into my 18 ft. enclosed trailer for the winter. and i mean "packed". i have to use it for things stored in my shop so i can use the show for mods/repaires during the winter. i need to lighten my load and get rid of some of it, but as soon as i do, ill need it and have to go buy another.....

That's cool I have a extra for ya..lol

Ok, I now have a 7mm with hood, boots, gloves, and a rash guard under suit. Just say when. I'm ready to goooooo!

I have quick question. My son is thinking about getting into dredging.
We will look at all info before we even start.
First, I have a High Impact wetsuit, made by casad. The only thing it says on the tag that I can find is that it is 90% neoprene, and 10% nylon.
If you could tell by the pic of it also what the model might be.

The stitching is not flat stitched, but where the pieces of material are folded together, then over hand stitched so there is a seam on the inside.
On the flap that is sewn on the zipper, I measured the thickness, and came up with, the total thickness of the black neoprene, and the layer of rayon is 5mm.
The thickness of the flap off of the zipper, is 4mm, then 1mm for the rayon.
The front has a smoother, type of material for chest and abdomen.

There is the black layer, then a very thin layer of the green, yellow on top of the black for a total of 5mm.
I have a pic of front, back, and the inside seam.
Ok,question is, how thick is this, and what temperature range.
Cant find any info on the web about the suit.
It was Free and looks new, or unused.
Have to see if there is a dive shop, or something in phoenix, ya the desert, right.:tongue3: To tell me more about it.

RR did you do a google search for any info on this suit? i have and at times use 2 suits together depending on the water temp. the main one is a 3 MM full suit/hood/boots and for me, that covers most but when i goto Wyoming and after a heavy snow mwlt in also put on a 7 Mm shorty. plus i always use a full coverage mask.unless your going up in altitude or northern states, you should be fine!free is a great price!

Looks like its. 5 mil suite
And if your using a heater you can dive pretty cold water ...
Without a heater maybe 60 deg. For a limited time

In cold water, I prefer 7mm, full hood, gloves boot and a water heater if there is snow on the ground.
