Woods Hibernia I think but hard to tell from the picture.

Looks like a King George II copper half penny. I have one of the same coins. Mine wasn't dug though. At least, not by me.

Roman Silver Denarius. Looks to be Tiberius Tribute Penny type.

It might not be this one, but looks to be a 1st C AD Roman Silver that needs cleaning. Lemon juice at 5 mins a time should help.

I agree with CRUSADER, unusual to find Roman coins in the US but not unheard of.

Try the lemon juice as Cru said. Nice find!

My buddy who actually dug this is scared to touch it..lolol.. I told him if it's copper, its a worthless crumbly piece of copper, and if it's ruined big deal .. but to be gentle and find out it is silver it's a cool find ..so i guess he will just have a "thing" in his possession , that he will never even know what it is..🤷 and treat it with kids gloves ..
Lolol

I think some may be looking at the second coin instead of the first. The first is certainly not a Wood's Hibernia or a British George II.

Its a 1734 British 1/2 Penny...

The second coin is a 1734 George II halfpenny, but that is not the coin in question, the first one is. The first one is the Roman coin.
