My buddy who actually dug this is scared to touch it..lolol.. I told him if it's copper, its a worthless crumbly piece of copper, and if it's ruined big deal .. but to be gentle and find out it is silver it's a cool find ..so i guess he will just have a "thing" in his possession , that he will never even know what it is..🤷 and treat it with kids gloves ..

Numismatically its not a rare or expensive coin, if silver the worst it could do is shave off about $3 of value. The most it can do will get a full attribution. Size & weight would tell me if silver or not?
