This is a MODERN FANTASY ITEM of ZERO VALUE: K.K.K. Nathan B. Forrest
We would have figured it out eventually :D , type of metal, size, etc, but thanks for your excellent post. I hope you will stick around. :icon_thumright: There seems to be a bunch of KKK fantasy coins. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,151357.0.html http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,151357.0.html

Difference between fake & fantasy: "A fake is a deceptive copy of an original but made later to defraud collectors. A fantasy can not be a fake because there is no original." (quote SS)

Well we already had it ID'ed as being fantasy, and when that was established it has to be a fake coin. The only part we didn't know was when exactly it was made, and had we figured out in the last ten years then we would have got the value too. So we weren't very far off. I also gave the same definition above for fantasy, but in my own words without looking it up. (because it's what makes sense) So I say we were 90% there and really it was that damn Heritage auction that caused most of the problems.

PS.... There's a good one hour show on lately about all the stuff that's being faked now and how bad a problem it is. Seen it just when I was about to order my medication over the internet from China. Great timing.

Hello SS. Sorry I thought it might confuse someone. The quote is from Siegfried Schlagrule (SS)in reply #8 where Flintfinder asked for guys to explain fantasy to him. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,151357.0.html Reply #4 I'm not real familar with fantasy , Can you guys explain that to me? Thanks John.

I realize you use the same initials but Siegfried has been using SS since 2003 and maybe you could make a deal with him LOL.

I used Seigfreids words because it seemed like a good definition of fantasy.. I always try to properly attribute the quote if they are not my own words. Its only fair. I dont want to steal someone elses words and use them as my own, you understand.

Maybe we can call you SS2 and Seigfreid is SS1. :laughing9:

I think it's the perfect definition. Now if all fantasy pieces could be thrown in a fire all would be great.

Try posting it on Ebay and ask for a minimum of $1000. You would be surprised how many people would be interested in this piece of history....

Looks like a real silver half to me.
is your's the correct Size ?

Was .exonumia.com talking about the one in Post One
here ?
Or a fake made to look like it ?

the one Iron Patch posted from Heritage looks
like a Fake Cast
or machine cut

Whether that particular one
has been made recently I Don't know.

I Know some people would
say anything to be sure it is Destroyed
& many others (all races)would buy it to Collect.

You have to remember one point. The Klan was part of the South's history. You do not erase something like that.
I DO NOT condemn or endorse it. It is interesting if you take the time to study it as a student of history. The group today
is a planet apart from the original group. It is just a sad fact of life. It is no different. probably than the Hitler coins that are being touted as
real. (But are far from that!)
