With family in town and other obligations for the holiday I only got out once. It should have been twice, but 6 inches of snow over 2 of the days made that impossible. Luckily the snow didn’t amount to much to the east of me and what there was melted quickly making it ok to go.
I went to the K to 8 school hoping for some more luck and I did have some. I spent 6 hours swingin the CZ21 on the upper sports field and found 45 coins with a face value of $2.28, a mangled pair of glasses, a dead pocket knife, some jewelry, a mystery reed, 3 ace bandage clip, a set of wheels from a mini skateboard, 3 shells, a mangled plated spoon, can slaw, foil, aluminum bottle caps, 2 whole cans, 9 pencil ends and 35 tabs.
The jewelry consists of a gold colored cross pendant, 2 kiddie rings and a pendant with a plastic gem. The cross looked like gold coming out of the ground, but when I wiped it off I could see it was marked 925. I thought I might want to check the stones in case they were diamonds. They were small enough that they might be, but on closer inspection I saw it was also marked cz which ment testing was not needed. The cross has the loop on the back so it will hang straight on the chain. Nothing big or great, but silver is always nice and this makes 7 trips in a row to the school with silver.
The reed is indeed a mystery. It is definitely a reed, but not a broken harmonica reed and not made of brass. It is the whole reed and it only has 2 notes. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
NON DETECTOR FINDS
I did find 10 coins in the coinstar machine. They were stuck together in pairs. A little warm water and they were unstuck. 8 pennies and 2 dimes.
Nothing else noteworthy for this week. It looks like we might get a hard freeze next week so I might not get out. Thanks for looking, stay safe, good luck and may your coil lead you to good things. Happy Thanksgiving.
