[/B]I wasn’t sure where to ask a question on the site so if this is the wrong place I apologize. I purchased a Dune Hydra sand scoop for beach hunting. I put a wooden shovel handle in it which works great but after a few hours combined with the weight of the scoop it gets a little heavy. Any ideas on where to get an aluminum or even a fiberglass handle that can take the pressure and will fit it? Thanks for looking. Any help will be appreciated.

I don't know the size, I replaced both my handles with aluminum conduit from an electrical supplyhouse. A local electrican may have some scrap pieces? Just a thought.

Anything as strong as the wood will likely weigh more.

From what little I see on the Interweb it looks like a 1.2" socket (30mm).

I do see carbon fiber 30mm x 500mm tubes (used for wing tubes in large model aircraft) from various sources. And that's just under 20". Maybe two sleeved together?

Make sure of the ihside diameter of the scoop hole because any aluminum/fiberglass/carbon fiber will be hard to reduce to fit if you get it too large.

The Gigmaster has a utube video about a new scoop that was ultra light weight. Than later he stated they were going into production. You might try looking up his videos.

Usually, you're arm will get used to the weight if you slowly build up your muscles. If your joints are the problem (like me), a lighter all around scoop assembly can help. The current lightest handle that can take the punishment is the carbon fiber handle. The lightest large mouth scoop that I'm aware of is the Xtreme titanium scoop. Naturally, there are lots of small aluminum scoops that are probably lighter.
