Hello everyone!

I dug this up today whilst digging up a bike from my backyard, this was right under it. The bicycle dates from ~1905-1935, so I would imagine that this is from the same era. I have looked at many pictures of the bike in question (A Mead Crusader) and this did not come from it. This object had two wooden rods/handles coming from it, and still has some pieces of wood in it. Any ideas would be helpful!

Yeah, its definitely the handle for a bike. Is the yellow material plastic? could be from a bike from the 1970s-1980s.

What you have I'm fairly certain is the seatpost lug from an old wooden framed bicycle. I looked around and didn't find an exact match, but I'll keep looking and see if I can track it down to a possible maker. The rusted iron part would be the actual seatpost.

Find the rest of it RelicHunter and rebuild it. Don't forget to put one of those bell ringy things on the handle bars. I just put one on the grand-daughters' tricycle, she loves it but here mother isn't to happy with it/me. Payback. hahaha.

The parts going to the back wheel on your's is missing. Look at the bar just under the seat it matches yours? HH

Yes, I am certain now that this came from a very old wooden bicycle. Would love to find all of the pieces and get it rebuilt!
