I keep seeing the Blind frog comparison... below a silly idea with a lot of hype but with no actual results....

Who has ultimate liability the production company? Since the participants have some sort of paid remuneration from the documentary. Technically the producers and production company would be liable for death and injury?

Since the person was riding the bucket of an excavator and filmed it. Thus leaving the producer and production company open to legal prosecution for violation in breach of The Utah Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1973.

So one day these productions companies might be held accountable for inciting dangerous work practices.

Very interesting analogy you have for this type of entertainment they film these days and I believe that is about all it is. Kind of a blight on the true treasure hunter that is out there. Some one getting injured just for entertainment purpose would be a tragedy.

I'm guessing the first year of the show was just to get the audience up to speed on what is going on. Most of everything they did they had probably already done before the TV company came along. After all the ranch is/was already named Blind Frog Ranch from when they had been in the cavern that was not flooded ( atleast at the time ) in order to see all the frogs sitting there... I kept wanting them to go back to that spot but of course they never did and didn't really talk about it too much... They need to buy their own drilling rig and just start drilling holes in some sort of grid fashion and at some point would find a dry entrance, or atleast one above the water line to be able to drop in a diver....

Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch Season 2 is yet to be renewed by Discovery Channel:

I suspect the reviews was not positive enough. They had 6 episodes to create an Oak Island find a hole speculate about it type show. But they had nothing to work with. At least The Curse of Oak Island had 200 years of failed searches and speculation to work with. Series one finished in January 2021.

My guess discovery will not commitment themselves to further shows because of potential change of ownership? Perhaps the TV show inference to treasure being there has risen the value of the property per acre. Has made the present owner cash in on selling the property because of the show.

i think real estate scheme was the end goal even before the tv show. The guy trying to sell it for them also won't answer publicly when asked about mineral rights......which is also sketchy.

They aren't "working" per se, they are defacto stunts they are performing. It's scripted, practiced and filmed as a stunt and therefore falls under different criteria. Waivers, loss control specialists, and stunt coordinators are all part of their arsenal. Even though it's sold as a reality, they are filming a show, not filming workers at the Ford Plant.

With a few rare exceptions, most all reality shows now are completely under the control of the producers and are largely scripted, using amateur talent and in the field locations to give it a realistic feel.

They think the underwater cribbing is Mayan, but it is clearly held together with cable, and cable clamps.

The plan is to hook a chain to it, and winch it to a 3 ft dia. hole??

I agree, makes no sense to try to get the whole thing out intact. The plan isn't going to work to drag that thing intact 1/4 mile, what's the point. Just send a couple scuba divers down and dismantle the thing and bring up what you find.

Show is clearly fake-a-vision. In tonight's episode, the supposed geologist can't identify gallium. ...and the gallium was hidden inside rock! Geeeez. Time for better writers. What's the world coming to when we can't trust "reality" tv?

This show has almost nothing to do with Aztec treasure, which was just used as a pretext to get to animal mutilations, skinwalkers, lights in the sky, a dead woman, secret govt programs, mysterious observers, and all the stuff that Skinwalker Ranch is famous for. Having said that, I still find it kind of entertaining and will probably keep watching to find out how they explain the gallium and the dead woman, and to see if they get sued by the Skinwalker Ranch group for copyright infringement.
