My Oldest Large Cent!

I went detecting yesterday at a house built around 1800. I was detecting in the side yard and got a great high tone. I soon located it in some dirt I dug out of the hole.

Here is the Large Cent still in the dirt.


Here it is after a gentle toothpicking. It turned out to be an 1817, which is my oldest Large Cent so far


I also dug a 1907 V Nickel, and my buddy who I was detecting with dug an awesome 1889 IHP.
