MY First SILVER DOLLAR..... A Morgan

Found my first Silver Dollar EVER this week.The closest thing to it was the last Half dollar I found 3 years ago......I figured I was about due to find a Half dollar,since both my hunting buds found a couple EACH Last year......OK.....I'll take a Silver dollar over a Half .......It's common ,and not worth much,but It's MINE.
Was hunting in the woods this week where I had found 11 silvers in a day a few months back...Now I may find a silver every other hunt....I got a high repeatable tone that the numbers and tones acted like a deceptive Mem....I thought "Maybe its a silver Coin,but most likely its a wheaty or a memorial....I dug a 7"-8" plug..............And my jaw dropped as I seen at the bottom of the plug was something Large and Shinny.....I thought Ohhhhh A silver Token............WRONG
I had it soaking in water a few days,and Now that it has been raining today....I thought I would remove the dirt take picks and post it..........I was carefull to not rub it....I just took a q-tip,and dabbed it with soap,Rinse ,Repeat.It took a couple hours......I have to think it must have been scratched before lost.........That's My story & I'm sticking to it.

Very sweet and hard to find.I know what you mean about big silver.In two and a half years of detecting,I've found around 250 silver coins and just 1 half.Some people with 50 silvers might have 5!!I don't know what the deal is,but I would love one of those puppies.

Thanks for All your Replies......I am sure that detectorist that were hunting back in the 60's & Seventies Have found thier share of Halves,and Silver Dollars,as they are the very Last to be disced out,and may have been hunted for exclusively back then....I was still hearing of people finding Silver $'s in the 80's,but in the Nineties they were really starting to be a rare find.......I read posts of the few people that found Silver dollars,and Gold Coins saying.....(It happens when you least expect it) And they were right......You could have pushed me over with a feather,and I would still have had that big silly grin on my face...........Happy Hunting to All of you, Dave
