Found my first Silver Dollar EVER this week. The closest thing to it was the last Half dollar I found 3 years ago......I figured I was about due to find a Half dollar, since both my hunting buds found a couple EACH Last year......OK.....I'll take a Silver dollar over a Half .......It's common ,and not worth much, but It's MINE.
Was hunting in the woods this week where I had found 11 silvers in a day a few months back...Now I may find a silver every other hunt....I got a high repeatable tone that the numbers and tones acted like a deceptive Mem....I thought "Maybe its a silver Coin, but most likely its a wheaty or a memorial....I dug a 7"-8" plug..............And my jaw dropped as I seen at the bottom of the plug was something Large and Shinny.....I thought Ohhhhh A silver Token............WRONG
I had it soaking in water a few days, and Now that it has been raining today....I thought I would remove the dirt take picks and post it..........I was carefull to not rub it....I just took a q-tip,and dabbed it with soap,Rinse ,Repeat. It took a couple hours......I have to think it must have been scratched before lost.........That's My story & I'm sticking to it.

That's just like the one I found last summer! Same date. Congrats on a great find!! I know your knees had to be shakin' when you pulled it out of the ground. :hello2:

Nice cartwheel. The reason for the scratches may be attributable from the pinches (prong marks) on the rim. It looks to me like it was mounted in a bolo type slide or a belt buckle, it would have been mounted face side out and the scratches are from being worn around the neck or waist, and leaning against things that were not kind to it.........NGE

I know that had to blow your head phones off. Congratulations.

Nice find laddie, the only one I've found was on ebay and it cost me. :laughing9: :laughing9: :laughing9:

I too have dug only one silver dollar, but I remember it like it was yesterday. Ya did good, made us proud.

That sounds Logical....I was wondering what those marks were on the rim, they were pretty deep.....Thanks for telling me,Dave

Congrats bud! That sure is a beauty. My half I found this year was an iffy signal too. That's why it was still in the ground probably. Noone else wanted to dig it. Those seem to be the best finds.

Very shiny and mesmerizing! I've found two in the same general vecinity as you, and both times put me on cloud nine. Congrats!
