Thanks for posting photos of the lettering. Wow, those are nice. I want to dig one even more now. Can't imagine being shot by one and it exploded what that must have been like. Not many people can say they've dug an explosive bullet either and I'm one of those. lol

Thanks buddy. Yes I wouldn't want to get shot with anything from the civil war. But a exploding bullet would really suck. They only used them in two major battles. Chancellorsville & Gettysburg. I found mine in camps before the battle of Gettysburg. I've heard of them coming out on the south mountain in Maryland and around Culpeper VA. I'm figuring that what was left of the 3rd corps dropped them on the way over south mountain & the army of the potamac wintered in Culpeper in 63/64.

Dang Digger!!! I'm gonna have to hurry up and win that lottery so I can retire and get up that way before ya'll get'm all dug up!!! Congrats, super nice finds, and Joe you stay away from up there at least until I retire... LOL... "D"

Ok now found another bullet for my wish list. An exploding gardner. I could dig those big lead signals all day long. Looks like you did.

Awesome finds! Did you say you've been hunting there 15 years...and you are still finding this much..WOW!
Yes at least 15 years. It had a electric fence at one time. Now it gets mowed one a year. So stuffs still hiding in there. HH
