my day started off horrible, hit a farm I had permission for, nothing but 60 cents in clad...knocked a few doors, no one was home, came home upset because I had 2 hours before I had to leave for out of town reunion.

I remembered an old farm I saw this spring 10 miles away, I hauled butt out there, it was a tiny yard and the lady gave me permission, first two signals were rosies. ok not bad....then I got a deep 12-26 signal, it was a v nickel and 1881 indian in the hole, now were talking. Then nabbed 2 wheats and two mercs 1942 and 1936....all done in 1 hour 45 min.

Go home and pack up for reunion, my wife says grab your etrac, this is at an old park. Ok, I have never been there it is a long ways from home, I'm game

so we eat and visit a bit and my wife said why don't you go swing the coil and I will walk along. First deep signal is a wheat signal 12-41 at 7"... I dig it and it is a super worn merc...cool...now it's 5 silver day!

I walk over towards this huge tree and I get a mixed signal, it is hard to pinpoint, it goes from wheat, silver range to nickel, and bouncing around. I isolate the high tone and dig it first.....I see another silver dime, I pull it out and it is a 1856 seated!!!! sweet!!!!! But the bad news now, it was in roots and I scratched the face of it BAD!!
I was so excited I almost forgot the nickel signal, almost walked away. I go back over and the nickel signal is clear as a bell now, dig down 5" and out pops a super nice 1875 shield nickel. Man I am on a roll!!

I then walked about 20 yards, get a 4-5" deep wheat signal, once again it was 12-41. I said I am thinking this is a wheat or clad dime....NOPE! it was a 1872 seated dime. 7 silver dimes and 2 were seated. Best day I have had this year! And that was all found in this park in one hour. I will be going back!

Even though I scratched the 1856 seated, I am still absolutely thrilled.

I hit a couple places today got a couple wheats, 1880 and 1906 indians.

That sounds like a glorious park! You must have had a blast, and I'm sure you can't wait to get back out there and spend some quality time. Great work, great day! And yeah, that ground out there treats the nickels great - that's a beautiful shield! Keep it up, let's see what else comes from that old park.
Oh I cant wait to get back there, and wouldnt you know it, I am on call this weekend, so I have to wait till the first weekend of august to return
