UPDATE! NGC coin grade has arrived...AU details Stained. 2662135-001

So tonight after work I grabbed the 3030 and braved the tick and fly infested forest that I enjoy hunting. I invested in a head bug net. Great purchase it worked very well. So I got to detecting and it wasn't to long before I got a nice silver hit. Dug this awesome 1800 draped bust dime. Wow! I can't stop looking at it. Was a few other flat buttons and what looked like a worn to the flat draped half cent copper.

Even if you can't do it - get somebody to take some GOOD pictures of this coin - get it off the dark wood background too
(red or blue behind it will show it better ) This is one seriously amazing find , and it should be up top - Dream find Amigo !

thanks for posting more pics. i agree with argentium - the detail on that coin is amazing. low mintage, early, incredible shape. you have a seriously quality coin there. a hearty congrats to you! im voting banner.

l would also like to add that this variety is a Davis 2, Wide A's......RARE! BUT>>>> It also says......BEWARE of counterfeits! I would have this particular coin looked at, and weighed, by a professional! You could have the real deal, but, if it looks too good to be true........ Breen says...."Cast cfts have recently appeared of wide A's. These are light weight and show a horizontal mark extending to 1. of crossbar of "A" in STATES."

This was dug in a colonial era field where I dug many other colonial coppers and reales. I'm sending this to NGC on Monday

Beautiful coin! Voted Banner. It's very easy to rotate an image...In Windows, it's about a 1 second job. If you have a smart phone, when the phone is positioned, press the screen on the area you want it to focus and it should. Might take a few tries

Whatever you wanna do.....its your coin and $. I would have it checked out first before you waste time and money. Doesn't matter where you found it.

Sounds easy enough to verify with a digital scale and a 10X jeweler's loupe.

Just out of curiosity what does "1. of crossbar of "A" in STATES." mean? Thanks.

Great find! In the last couple of years I've found over 50 large cents, 25 colonials, Spanish 1/2, 1 and 2 reales and even found a gold coin recently, but bust silver coinage has still eluded me. Nice find! It's inspirational for the rest of us to get out there and keep swinging the loop.

The raised mark should be on the 1st verticle line in "A' in STATES. Meaning that the crossbar is "on top" of the first line in the "A". (I Think) The weight should be 2.70 GRAMS! EXACTLY! If it ain't......It ain't authentic.

Amazing find my friend!! You NEVER see any of those posted, not to mention the great condition. I'd grade it as having VF details at least. Killer coin Tony, and my vote for banner is going in right now.
