These 2 were found Sept 5 & 7 2016. Was stunned by both (and very thankful). Basically from the same spot in the creek. The needle tip on the one is the best I've ever found....will never be topped. I know they look to good to be true, but I assure you they are.

Very nice triangles! In TN we call them Hamiltons...what is the local term for them?

The needle tip might be a uwharrie point. The other might be a yadkin or caraway point. Was told by a collector friend that the needle tipped point may not have been intended to be used as an arrowhead. It clearly appears to have never been used. Stunned that it survived. I believe that once it made it's way to the creek, it stayed where it settled, until I found it. Thanks.

Makes me wonder if they were from a cache if they came from same spot. They are fresh from there original place it looks like. Hope you find a pocket full.

I'm pretty certain it was not a cache. I just miraculously found the 2 in the same "catch area" in the creek. I found a cache when I was around 13 years old (long ago) and don't believe this was that. Thank you for the look.

Dont get them to close to the sink you are scaring me. One on the left looks like a Fort Ancient and the other is a Yadkin. Both very nice finds.

Yeah I Know. Don't really like carrying around the needle tip setting it up for pictures (which obviously I'm not good at). Thanks!

very very nice. I enjoy creek hunting allot but the little creeks around here don't seem to produce allot. I did find a couple nice piece's in creeks in the past but not much in these little creeks around here anyway. Good eye and congrats!

Thanks. I never hunted in creeks until about 3 1/2 years ago. Never even thought about it. Thought it would be useless. I was wrong.

Those are fantastic. Congratulations

The small thinning strikes on the base and elsewhere are amazing. That had to be a tedious love of labor for those ancient men...Very nice

I've looked at both with a loop. The tip on the needle tipped point required very sharp, close view eyesight. Which might mean the maker might have been less than 35 years of age or so if they had the same problem with far sightedness that we do when we age.

I love creek hunting cause you never know what age of the artifact will be when you find it. Just have to watch where you are walking when looking down. I have many times hit my head on low hanging trees.

True. I've found Dalton points to woodland triangles. Never seen a snake in the creek. Have seen large snapping turtles. I always look before I go under low hanging trees for sunning snakes.
