A little update: there was a 14k gold ring, paid $5. Had an offer I accepted tonight for $1000.00! Now waiting for payment is stressful!

I didn't get it appraised I think if she does not pay for it I will do that. But it is called alexandrite. It's purple in the house and when you go in the sun it turns blue. I hope she pays though, I really could use that money! It may be worth more, but I can't be too greedy, I paid $5....

I'm super surprised that it would go for that much. I have a solitaire ring that I was told is alexandrite.. Changes color just like you mention. I can't even get a bid at $150. Granted mine is an emerald cut and is a bit more of a plain setting than yours. Still a good sized stone and a hefty ring. Perhaps I'll have to reevaluate my listing and include new photographs.
